Science Fiction is one of my favorite TV genres, and V is one of the best science fiction shows that has been made recently. Season Two of V has recently been released on DVD and Bluray, and it has been eagerly anticipated.
The Visitors are lead by the mysterious queen Anna, and base their operations out of 29 motherships hovering over 29 global sites. Why 29 sites? What is their master plan? This is just one of the extraordinary revelations in the 10-Episode Season 2 of V.
In this season a group of underground unit of resistance fighters called the Fifth Column fight tirelessly against the Visitors. But by the series finale the fate of humanity is at stake. Will the humans triumph and crush the Vs, will they learn to live together peacefully or is humanity doomed? Unfortunately we will never know, because the series was cancelled. Here is a synopsis of the finale:
The 5th Column is crushed in a failed coup against Anna. A new human opposition force has entered the picture called Aries Project. All humans above ground are blissed and fall under Anna’s spell just as the V Armada approaches. An evil twin Lisa has been created who seduces Tyler becomes impregnated by him and then murders him. Lisa the Visitor Princess is imprisoned after an attack on her Mother’s life and Anna kills her mother Diana.
Personally I don’t see how humanity will be able to defeat the Vs. Their technology is superior, and Anna is a formidable opponent with no apparent weaknesses. I mean she killed her mother in this series, why would she hesitate to kill humans? By the end of the episode it is clear that Anna is pure evil. Living peacefully doesn’t seem very likely to me either, since peace does not seem to be in the Visitors plans, and the V Armada is approaching. But having the world enslaved forever isn’t a very satisfying ending, so here is how I would end it.
Lisa escapes from her underground prison and teams up with the Aries Project. They secretly swap Lisa with her evil twin, so she can get close to Anna. Amy is not really loyal to the Vs, since she is half human, and she is secretly working for the Aries Project. Together Amy and Lisa kill Anna, and this time Lisa is able to follow through and actually destroy Anna.
Hopefully the TV show will be picked up by another network and we will find out what happens. I am sure the writers and creators are more inventive than I am, and have the ability to take the series in directions I would never think of.
