SPICY INDIAN FRIED CHICKEN

Crispy, air fried pieces of chicken are tossed in hot and spicy yogurt sauce. Slather it in the sauce and enjoy a taste of India!

 – 1 pound boneless chicken – 2 1/2 tbs cornstarch – 3 tbs rice flour – 1 tsp ginger root, minced – 1 tbs garlic, minced – 5 tbs plain yogurt – 3 sprig of curry leaves  – salt & pepper – 3 tbs chili paste – 1 tbs oil – 1 ½ teaspoon cumin seeds – 2 whole dried red chilies (or more)

Marinade the diced chicken in yogurt and spices for 2 hours.

Put the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer and cook at 350 F.

Air fry for about 11 minutes until the chicken is crispy and browned on the edges.

Saute curry leaves, red peppers and spices for a minute.

Add the yogurt, chili paste and cornstarch and cook for a minute or two.

The sauce will quickly thicken.

Add the fried chicken pieces and toss to coat with sauce.

Serve the spicy chicken with raw onions and lemon. Chicken 65 can be an appetizer or serve it with rice for a main dish!
