Apple Galette

Apple galette is a rustic tart that is easy to make, even for novice bakers! Use premade pie crust and have it ready to bake in minutes.

INGREDIENTS

pie crust, (store bought or homemade) apples white sugar flour apple pie spice (or cinnamon)

Peel, core and slice the apples. Or roughly chop them into pieces and leave the peels on if you prefer.

Put the apple slices in a bowl and add the sugar, flour and apple pie spice. Toss until the apples are coated in the mixture.

Roll out the pie crust to a circle about 12 inches in size. You don't have to be exact, the galette shape can be freeform.

Pile the apples in the center of the dough, leaving 1 inch around the edges. You can arrange them or just pile them on!

Gently fold the edges of the pie crust up to cover the spiced apples, crimping it when needed.

Bake for 45-50 minutes at 375 F, until the apple galette is golden brown and the apples are soft and bubbly.

Enjoy as is or add caramel sauce, a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to make it even yummier!
