Apple  Upside Down Cake

Apples are coated with brown sugar and baked underneath cake batter for a delicious apple upside down cake.

Cook butter and brown sugar in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves.

Put the butter and brown sugar mixture in a baking pan, top it with sliced apples and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Make a simple cake batter by combining with butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.

Mix in flour, cornstarch, baking powder, apple pie spice and salt. Add to the butter mixture alternately with the milk.

Spread the batter over the apples in the baking pan and bake the apple upside down cake for 40-45 minutes.

Flip the apple upside down cake over onto a serving platter. The caramelized topping will be sticky and sweet!
