BANGERS & MASH

Bangers are Irish sausage made from pork . They often include breadcrumbs and both sweet and savory spices. But you can make this bangers and mash recipe with any sausages!

Use a pressure cooker to make this easy one pot Irish classic! Irish sausage and mashed potatoes are cooked with a rich onion gravy flavored with Guinness!

Dice the potatoes, peeling if you like. Put them in an Instant Pot steamer basket and set them aside.

Put the pressure cooker on Saute, add some oil,  Brown the sausages and onions until the sausage are brown and the onions have softened.

Deglaze the Instant Pot with beef broth. Then add Guinness and Worchestershire sauce. You can use another beer or substitute broth.

Put the trivet in the Instant Pot, so the sausages are underneath. Add the steamer basket full of potatoes. Cook on High pressure for 8 minutes.

Take the potatoes and sausages out and set aside. Mix the cornstarch and water and stir into the liquid. Put it on Saute to thicken the gravy.

Add some milk, butter, salt and pepper to the potatoes and mash them until they are smooth and creamy.

Serve the bangers and mash drizzled with the thick and tasty gravy! This is great Irish dinner to enjoy when you don't want corned beef.
