Large cake-like cookies are frosted with vanilla and chocolate buttercream frosting. These cookies are different from NYC Black & White cookies because of the cakey texture and creamy frosting.
Cream the sour cream, shortening and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt with the mixture to make a thick cookie dough.
Drop 1/4 cup of batter on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Spread it into a 3 inch circle. You will only be able to fit 3-4 cookies per cookie sheet.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for about 12 minutes, until cookie is done in the middle. Let them cool on the sheets for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack.
