Summer Salad

EASY MAKE AHEAD SALAD

This classic salad is a delicious make ahead side dish that is easy to make! Perfect for taking to your next summer BBQ, picnic or cookout! 

Make it for Mother's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day for an easy summer side dish that will be a  crowd favorite.

Fresh INGREDIENTS

Layers lettuce hard boiled eggs cooked bacon cherry tomatoes red onion frozen peas, thawed shredded cheddar cheese Dressing mayonnaise sour cream sugar salt and pepper

Step 1

Fill a large bowl with lettuce, then add sliced hard boiled eggs around the edges. Press the eggs up against the sides of bowl of an elegant look.

Step 2

Crumble the cooked bacon and spread it on top of the lettuce.

Step 3

Halve the cherry tomatoes and put them on top of the bacon. Slices of full size tomatoes also work fine.

Step 4

The next two layers are sliced onions, followed by the peas.

Step 5

Add a layer of shredded cheddar cheese on top of all the salad veggies.

Step 6

To make the dressing whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, salt and pepper in a medium bowl.

Step 7

Spread the dressing on top of the cheese. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving. You can make it up two 2 days ahead of time! When you are ready to serve garnish this summer salad with more bacon, cheese and green onions.
