Place the ham in the crock pot and pour on about half the thickened glaze mixture.
8-12 pound spiral sliced bone-in ham
Put the lid on the crock pot and cook the ham on low for 4 hours.
Check that the ham has reached 140 degrees F internally. Once fully cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and place it on a tray.
Reheat the remaining glaze on low heat and pour it over the ham.
Optionally, you can broil the ham for 5 minutes to caramelize the glaze. Watch it carefully, so it doesn't burn.
Notes
Use a crock pot liner to make cleanup easy.
Broiling the ham for 5 minutes before serving gives it a fantastic presentation.
This recipe works great with boneless ham, too. Adjust the cooking time to about 2-3 hours on low.
You can adjust the heat level for your family by reducing or increasing the amount of red pepper flakes in the glaze.
