Ingredients
1boxchocolate cake mix
1boxinstant chocolate pudding5.1 ounces
½cupunsalted buttermelted
2 ½cupsmilk
1-2cupsmix-inslike chocolate chips, M&Ms, nuts, or marshmallows
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix and chocolate pudding mixture evenly in the bottom of the pan.
Melt the butter. Then add the butter and milk to the pan and lightly mix with a whisk.
½ cup unsalted butter, 2 ½ cups milk
Top the cake with your chosen mix-ins.
1-2 cups mix-ins
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Experiment with various mix-ins, such as milk chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, walnuts, or pecans. But keep the mix-ins to 2 cups maximum to avoid overwhelming the cake.
The cake is done when the middle springs back when touched or a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Don't overbake.
Serving Ideas - Top the cake off with a drizzle of chocolate sauce or a scoop of ice cream. You can also let it cool completely and add chocolate frosting.
