🍽️Modern, Fun and Easy Recipes for Real Life

relaxing in a chair

Hi, I’m Annie, the recipe developer, home cook, and kitchen‑gadget enthusiast behind Upstate Ramblings. I believe cooking should be approachable, fun, and totally doable on a busy weeknight.

My goal is to help you make simple, comforting recipes using everyday ingredients to create the kind of meals you can rely on again and again.

Whether you’re feeding your family, hosting a summer cookout, or just trying to get dinner on the table fast, I’m here to make cooking feel easier and a lot more enjoyable.

⭐What You’ll Find Here

I focus on:

  • Easy weeknight dinners
  • Classic comfort food
  • Family‑friendly meals
  • Air fryer, Instant Pot, and slow cooker recipes
  • Simple desserts that make people smile

I love modern kitchen gadgets (if there’s a new tool, I’m probably testing it!), but I also share plenty of traditional recipes like slow cooker classics, one‑pan skillet meals, soups, casseroles, and no‑bake treats. If you want healthy‑ish, realistic meals without stress, you’re in the right place.

🤔Does This Sound Like You?

You don’t have time to cook…

Between work, sports practices and school activities some days you barely have 30 minutes. An air fryer can cook in half the time of an oven, and with less fat.

You want dinner ready the moment you walk in the door…

Some days you need a meal that cooks itself while you’re at work, running errands, or juggling a dozen things at once. That’s where the slow cooker shines. It turns simple ingredients into dinner with almost no effort.

You want an easy, all in one dinner…

Making a main dish and multiple sides can be exhausting, and leave you with a mountain of dishes. With the Instant Pot, you can make delicious one‑pot meals fast.

📖More About Me

I live in the Syracuse, NY area with my husband of 30+ years, and we have three grown children who are all out of college. Before blogging, I earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering, which probably explains my love of gadgets and experimenting in the kitchen.

I homeschooled all three of my kids from K–12 and am passionate about education, creativity, and helping people learn new skills. When I’m not cooking, you’ll find me hiking, reading, taking photos, or working in my garden.
