This time of year is so busy, it is hard to just sit back and relax and take some time for yourself, so you can get through your busy day.
I homeschool my 15 year old son, and I thought this year would be easier than previous years, since I only have one child at home. But it hasn’t turned out that way at all! There are always errands to run and meetings to take my son to. And my son’s classes like algebra and biology take quite a bit of effort and oversight from me. So when we had our first big snowstorm of the season last week I figured it meant a quiet day at home, perfect for some me time. One nice thing about snow storms is most things are cancelled, so we stay home!
In the afternoon after we finished a full day of school work (no snow days for homeschoolers) I sent my son outside to snow blow the 10 inches of snow that were filling the driveway. I figured this would give me a few hours of uninterrupted time to myself!
Just as I was about to sit down and read a few chapters of my book my son was back inside the door. And he said, “Remember how you told me to unhook the dogs’ chain before I started? Well.. I forgot.” He had managed to get the steel cable of the dog chain wrapped tightly around the snow blower auger, making it inoperable. So I put boots on and went to the garage to attempt an emergency snow blower repair, while my snack got colder and colder.
It turns out I am not skilled at repairing snow blowers! We finally gave up, and I told him to start shoveling, and went back inside for my mini meal moment.
Then I took pity on my son, because it was a lot of snow, and we have a very large driveway, so I braved the cold to help shovel us out. So much for a relaxing afternoon, but at least it was good exercise!
Stouffers has found a way to make lunch time easy peasy. This is going to come in very handy with the Holidays coming up. I get so busy, I don’t have time to cook.
Sounds like a great option to bring to work!
These would be great for the kids as after school snacks when I’m not available. I’ll be sure to look for them next time I’m in the supermarket.
I saw these last week and want to give them a try! Quick easy and tasty — my kind of meal!
We don’t have stouffers here! but i love that you could reheat again! And you’ve got a really good kid there with great attitude! 🙂
Look at all that snow and ice! I bet those mini meals are helping keep you warm when inside!
I thought you were going to say your son ate the mac and cheese! But, their regular mac is good so this is probably good too! So very convenient.
They really are a nice little size, aren’t they? You’re so sweet to get out there and help shovel!
It would be lovely to have a snowy day, but they are quite rare down here. I love mac & cheese…I would need a bigger cup 🙂
Great idea for late night snacks. We love mac and cheese!
These are perfect for lunch or a snack. I like the portion size too which is great for kids! I have not seen these yet until now!
these look so perfect for a quick snack. But more importantly, it is GORGEOUS outside. Florida definitely doesn’t look like that, lol.
Sounds like a good option for a busy day — but geesh, what a day you had!
