Cheesecake is one of my favorite desserts, especially topped with fruit like blueberries or raspberries. I rarely make it though, because it is so rich and calorie laden.  But the holidays seem to call for decadent desserts. Thanksgiving or Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a delicious dessert like this Blueberry Cheesecake.

Easy Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Thanksgiving is one of those celebrations that just seems to call for a special centerpiece. After all the meal is the main focus of the holiday, so it makes sense to have an attractive and festive centerpiece for the dining room table. Here is a quick and easy Thanksgiving Centerpiece I made for our table this year.

An effortless Thanksgiving centerpiece adorned with sunflowers and pine cones.

I took some simple natural materials from my backyard and combined them with a sunflower floral spray for a simple fall themed centerpiece.

Maple Roasted Carrots

I am always looking for new ways to serve old favorites, like carrots. While browsing Pinterest for sides for Thanksgiving I came across this recipe for Maple Glazed Carrots, and decided it would work well. So I changed it up a little and made these Maple Roasted Carrots.

I modified the recipe up by using olive oil instead of butter, and adding garlic too. I love garlic, so I tend to add it to most vegetable dishes! I also used multi-colored carrots to make the dish look pretty, which makes it perfect the the Thanksgiving table.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes & Pears

This recipe for Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Pears would make a great side dish for Thanksgiving!

Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Pears - An easy Holiday side dish

I used to think I didn’t like sweet potatoes, because the only way I’d ever eaten them was the typical Thanksgiving side dish where they are covered with brown sugar and marshamallows.  That dish is way too sweet for me, but it turns out that I love sweet potatoes when are served so that their natural flavor shines through.  Now I eat roasted, bake or sauteed sweet potatoes all the time, and enjoy them quite a bit.
