It is always gratifying to feed Dodger, because he is always grateful to get his food. With my kids and husband when I serve dinner I get comments like, “Chicken again?” or “Is this all we are having for dinner?” But Dodger gets excited when he sees me going for the food bin, and wags his tail. If I take too long to fill his bowl he starts jumping around the kitchen, unable to contain his excitement. He never takes getting fed for granted, that is for sure.
Luckily it finally stopped raining here, so we have been able to get Dodger out to exercise and burn off all that energy. Since he is a large dog he needs lots of room to run and play. Yesterday he got to go back to the woods behind our house and go wading in the pond. He had fun, and didn’t come home too muddy.
