S’mores are one of my family’s favorite summer desserts! Of course they are a necessity for camping trips, but they are perfect for a S’Mores Summer party in your own backyard too.
Last week I created this Backyard S’mores Bar for an easy weeknight family dessert. We have a very busy family schedule this summer. My daughters are home from college, but they both have jobs and are in and out of the house. My son is 16, and he is working too and is out sailing whenever he gets the chance. So when everyone is actually home for a weeknight dinner it is a special ocassion worthy of a fun weeknight dessert like S’mores.
After all S’mores don’t have to be made over a campfire – marshmallows taste just as good roasted over a charcoal or gas grill!
To make our Backyard S’mores Bar I started with the basics – Hershey Bars, Graham Crackers and Marshmallows. I found S’moreMallows at Walmart, which are marshmallows sized specially for S’mores. Then I added in some fun ingredients so that everyone in the family could add their own twist to a S’more.
To use as alternate S’more bases I bought some Gingersnaps and Lorna Doone Cookies.
For chocolate alternatives I got some of my husband’s favorite Special Dark Bars, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I also added Hershey’s Dark Kisses and Hershey’s Chocolate Chips. Then to balance it out I put out some shredded coconut, blueberries, caramel sauce and chocolate with hazelnut spread.
Backyard S’mores Bar Ingredients
- Hershey Bars
- Honey Maid Graham Squares
- Jet Puffed S’moreMallows
- Gingersnaps
- Lorna Doone
- Special Dark Bars
- Special Dark Kisses
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- Hershey’s Chocolate Chips
- Hershey’s Caramel Sauce
- Coconut Flakes
- Blueberries
I also printed out some marshmallow shaped labels, taped them to toothpicks and stuck them in marshmallows for cute S’more themed labels for all the ingredients!
Like the labels? You can print your own set out here! I have two free printable downloads, one with blank labels for adding your own ingredients, and one with the ingredients I used. Just click on a picture below to download a free printable pdf.
Once I had the S’more Bar set up we had fun making our own special S’more creations. My creation was the Blueberry Caramel S’more.

So Let’s Make S’Mores Tonight! You can find all the ingredients I found and some other I never even thought of at Walmart. They have a special S’mores display set up in many stores.
I’d love to hear your favorite way to make and enjoy S’mores, and what ingredients you think I should add to our next S’mores Bar!
This looks amazing. SO creative. My girls would go nuts!
We’re always running from activity to activity and I just love when we have a night where we can just enjoy each others company without the rush! We usually make our s’mores over our fire pit, but over the winter we took them indoors with the use of our stove . Your printable s’mores bar labels are so cute – thanks for sharing! #client
Oh my gosh, I WANT S’MORES and I’ve been meaning to try them with Peanut Butter Cups…..thanks for the reminder!!
What a fantastic summer idea. I love all of the numerous ingredients you included and can think of some super tasty s’mores combos.
I love the idea of a custom s’mores bar! so many possibilities, and so perfect for a summer barbecue!
I’ve seen the S’Mores display at a few different Walmarts over the past couple of years. I love that you used the marshmallows to hold the signs for the ingredients, it’s very cute!
What an amazing Smore’s bar. The kids love to make their own desserts so this would be perfect for them.
Oh I’ll try one of each. We love smores a lot. But have no back yard, so I use the broiler. Not quite the same but works. That caramel blueberry one sounds amazing.
I have never seen so many choices for s’mores!
I usually can only eat one or two before I have had my fill but how could you only have one with so many choices?
This is great. My kids love a variety of s’mores – meaning that some like a full s’mores experience while others prefer no marshmallow or no graham cracker? So weird, I bet they would eat these up asap though!
That looks delicious and so creative!! I love the labels and all the flavors!
Now this is the way to have s’mores! I love caramel, it’s one of my favorite flavors!
I’m definitely going to have to pull the caramel out for mine. That sounds incredible.
I am drooling over your photos. I’ve got to get more creative with out smores and you’ve inspired me to do so.
this is really quite wonderful! Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop. Watch for your feature on Monday xo
Wow! How fun! I think I will have to give the blueberry caramel a try. Not something I’d ever think of combining but looks delicious!
Yum! It would be so hard to pick the perfect combination, but fun to try them all!
What a pretty presentation! The entire table looks great. The labels are a fun touch. Thanks for sharing on Snickerdoodle Sunday!
