We have lots and lots of Cheerios in the house right now, so I wanted to make a Cheerio dessert. The Cheerios website has a whole section of recipes on it, and I modified the Banana Nut Snack Bars recipe to make these chocolate covered Cheerio Snack Bars.
Cheerios Snack Bars Recipe
Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon butter
- 2 cup mini marshmallows
- 3 cup Cheerios cereal
- 1/3 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips
- Spray an 8 inch square glass pan with cooking spray.
- Microwave the butter for about 30 seconds, until melted. Add in the marshmallows and for about 1 min. 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds. Stir mixture until the marshmallows are melted and smooth.
- Mix the sunflower seeds and Cheerios into the melted marshmallow/butter mixture. Stir until blended, and then press into the pan.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a zip lock bag in the microwave. Cut off a corner of the bag and drizzle the chocolate over the bars. Let sit for 1 hour so the chocolate can harden.

Seems about the only time I really read is on vacation. When I’m home I use what time others read to knit or crochet or update blogs, or read blogs, or comment on blogs, etc.
Sounds like a good book. Got one here a friend sent me about homelessness. I do plan to find some time to read it
