Men In Black 3 doesn’t come out of DVD and Bluray until later this week, but my family and I had the chance to watch it early since we pre-ordered the movie at Walmart. Thanks to our pre-order we were able to watch the movie on Vudu before its official release!
Before we watched the movie we had to get in the spirit of the movie, so I had my kids do their best Men In Black impression with their shades.
They are teenagers, so they have the sullen annoyed look down pat! Then I figured I’d better get Vudu set up on the TV, since we had never used it before. I was worried it would be complicated, but it was extremely easy. We have a blu-ray player, and all I had to do was go to Vudu on the menu and type in my email address and the Vudu password from the account I created online when I redeemed the pre-order.
The total process took about 2 minutes, and the hardest part was remembering my password! Then I went to the MyVudu tab, and there was the movie, ready to play. I also received a $5.99 credit just for activating Vudu, which will be perfect for another family movie night.
My son built a fire for us in the wood stove, so we had a toasty warm basement for watching the movie.
We have snow on the ground, so the fire was very welcome. We all snuggled up to enjoy MIB3, even the dog.
The movie was excellent, and we all laughed and had a great time. I like the fact that the violence in the movie is not scary at all, and I was amazed at how fantastic Josh Broslin was at portraying a young Tommy Lee Jones. In the movie Will Smith’s Agent J has to travel back in time to 1969 to prevent the death of his partner, Agent K. The 1969 Mets being a plot point was a huge hit, since we are all Mets fans here! And the references to things like Andy Warhol, The Rolling Stones and the Moon Landing were amusing too. This is a great family movie for older children and teenagers, and it is quite funny.
I liked the process of pre-ordering and then being able to stream the movie to my home. And of course we will be receiving a hardcopy of the movie in the mail, and I am sure we will be watching it again. My kids are already asking to re-watch the first two Men in Black movies, so they can enjoy the whole series again.
