🥣How to Make Peppermint Dip

  1. Crush the candy or candy canes. I like putting them in a zippered bag and then rolling them with a rolling pin. You can also bang the bag with a spoon or hammer to crush them.
  2. Use an electric mixer to beat the cream cheese with the sugar and peppermint extract until smooth.
  3. Fold in the whipped topping and crushed candies. Don’t use a mixer for this; use a spatula.
  4. Chill for 1 hour before serving.

🍪Serving Ideas

This dip has a wonderful peppermint flavor and a smooth and creamy texture. You can dip almost any kind of cookie in this sweet treat. I especially like pairing this dip with chocolate cookies! Some of my favorites dippers are:

  • Chocolate Teddy Grahams
  • Chocolate covered pretzels
  • Chocolate wafer cookies
  • Oreos
  • Graham crackers
  • Gingersnaps
  • Vanilla wafers

You can also pair this with other dips and have a fabulous yet easy-to-make dessert spread for your holiday party. Check out Gingerbread Dip, Hot Cocoa Dip, and Eggnog Dip for more creamy holiday dessert dips.

💭How to Store

Store this dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Some of the color from the candy canes might bleed into the dip, but that gives it a little bit of pink color.

📝FAQ

Can peppermint cheesecake dip be frozen?

Yes. Store it in an airtight container and freeze it for 1-2 months. Thaw it in the refrigerator overnight and stir it well before serving.

Does cream cheese dip need to be refrigerated?

Yes, it needs to be refrigerated. Leaving it at room temperature for about 2 hours is fine if you are having a party. After that, it needs to go back in the fridge.

Do I have to use Cool Whip in this recipe?

No, you can use heavy cream to make real whipped cream instead. Whip the 1 1/2 cups of cream until soft peaks form. Then add 1/4 cup of powdered sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.

If you make this with heavy cream, it will only last for 1 day in the fridge and can’t be frozen.
