Football season is just about underway! Whether it is a club, college, high school or professional teams are practicing and getting ready for another exciting season. My family loves to watch football. This year we are making an effort to see more games in person, instead of just watching on TV, and we are planning to attend our first game this week. Of course football also means snacks, so to go along with our first game of the season I created this portable SNICKERS Pretzel Snack with cute little football bags.
I headed to Sam’s Club to pick up candy for my snack, since they have large portions, perfect for season long snacking. I bought a 48-count box of Snickers candy bars and a MARS 105-count variety bag which includes M&Ms, Twix, Milkway and more.
When I got home my son insisted he needed a quick treat before he could help me create our recipe.
Then we chopped up some SNICKERS to use in our Pretzel Snack mix.
We combined the candy bar with broken pretzels, Cheerios and a few bags of M&Ms from the variety pack bag.
Next we melted some chocolate chips and drizzled the chocolate over the mixture. We put the tray in the refrigerator to harden the chocolate, and got to work making snack bags.
Now my son is not very artistic, but these bags are so easy to make it doesn’t matter! We simply used white paint to add a few lines to basic paper bags to make them look like a football.
Once the paint on the bags was dry the chocolate in the refrigerator was hardened, and we broke the candy apart and divided it up into the bags, and our sweet and salty snack mix was ready to go.
