On Labor Day we took our boat to Lake Ontario for a day on the water. 
We ended up anchoring off some of the sand dunes and swimming in to the beach, which was farther away than it looked from the boat!
It was a quiet and deserted spot though, and perfect for the end of summer.

Looks like the beaches along Rt. 3 on the east side of Lake Ontario? I heard the seagulls were terrible at the public beaches up that way this summer.
