Tired of boring hot dogs? Try this fun twist on a traditional hotdog – a Reuben Hot Dog.

Reuben hot dog topped with sauerkraut and cheese.

Once the weather gets warm hot dogs are a frequent meal at my house. They are quick to make, and everyone in the family enjoys them! My vegetarian daughter will eat veggie hot dogs, so I can feed the entire family without making a special meal for her.

But hot dogs can get boring, and sometimes it is fun to try toppings other than mustard or chili.

So I took the traditional ingredients of a Reuben sandwich and used them to top off hot dogs. I added sauerkraut, Thousand Island Salad dressing and Swiss cheese to the hot dog for a tasty dinner.

This is a great way to change things up and make a simple meal different and exciting. With the addition of a simple salad or another easy side dish, you can have a kid friendly dinner on the table in no time at all.
