Summer is the time for many celebrations. And one of the best ways to celebrate is by grilling meat for a summer picnic or BBQ. There are so many great recipes that are better on the barbeque, like this one for quick Shrimp and Sausage Kebobs.
My family and I have lots of summer celebrations planned. Last weekend we attended the graduation party for my niece Joy, and there are quite a few more graduation parties planned over the next month. And then there are the traditional events we have every year, like a big Fourth of July picnic and combination birthday party. When it comes to planning for summer parties I love all the help available at my local Price Chopper.
Price Chopper has everything you need for summer grilling, all part of the House of BBQ! I headed to Price Chopper and picked up some Hillshire Farm Smoky Bourbon American Craft Sausage, Central Market Classics Neil’s Favorite Steak Sauce and shrimp to make some tasty kebobs for grilling.
I used the Steak Sauce as a marinade for the shrimp, and the Papaya and Pineapple flavor of the sauce was perfect for adding a little bit of excitement to the shrimp. I threaded shrimp alternately with smoked sausage on metal skewers, and then some vegetables on the skewers too.
The result was a main dish that was enjoyed by everyone in the family, even my picky teenagers. To round out the meal I made a quick pasta salad using a Betty Crocker Suddenly Salad, and we had meal that was fast to make and celebration worthy.
