I am working with Disney, Marvel, and Dreamworks as part of this event and they are providing the trip in exchange for my coverage. Opinions are always my own.
I am super excited to tell you all about the trip I will be taking next month with 24 other bloggers to LA for the red carpet premier of Thor: The Dark World at the #ThorDarkWorldEvent and #DeliveryManEvent! When I first got the email inviting me I kept closing it, re-opening it, and then reading it again to make sure I had read it correctly! A trip to Hollywood is like a dream come true!
And while any trip to Hollywood would be fun, Thor: The Dark World is one of the movies I have been most looking forward to this fall. I loved the first movie, and have always been fascinated with the Norse mythology the series is based on.
As an added bonus my kids are super jealous. My kids are teens, and once your kids get to be about 12 or so it is pretty hard to impress them and make them think you are cool. I mean just going to Hollywood would make them envious, but my girls love Thor. He is by far their favorite of the Avengers, and it is not too hard to figure out why! Chris Hemsworth is an excellent actor, and he is also quite easy on the eyes.
In addition to attending the premiere the other bloggers and I will also get to interview two of the actors from the movie, Tom Hiddleston, who stars as Loki and Jaimie Alexander who plays the Asgard warrior Sif. That should be lots of fun, and great way to get some insight into what movie making is like. Hopefully I won’t be too nervous to actually ask questions!
As if that isn’t enough the visit will include even more! We will also be attending a screening of Delivery Man, which will be opening in theaters on November 22nd. This movie stars Vince Vaughn, as an underachiever who finds out he’s fathered 533 children through anonymous donations to a fertility clinic 20 years ago. Now 142 of them have filed a lawsuit to find out his identity, and he has to decide whether or not to come forward! I am really looking forward to this movie, because it sounds like a funny and heartwarming movie about what family really means. I know a bunch of bloggers who have already seen a screening, and have heard nothing but rave reviews!
And we will get to interview both Vince Vaughn and Chris Pratt, who also stars in the movie.
And there is still more! We will visit Disneyland, and tour the brand new Thor: Treasures of Asgard exhibit, along with as many other rides as we can cram in. We will also attend press day at Disney Toon Studios for the In-Home release of Planes (available 11/19) and get a sneak peak of Marvel’s new In-Home release Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United (available 12/3).
We will be staying at the Loews Hollywood Hotel, which sounds fabulous, and is right in the heart of Hollywood!
I don’t think I have ever used this many exclamation points in a blog post before, so you can see I am pretty excited! I will have many more posts about different parts of the trip, both before, during and after. Follow the hashtags #ThorDarkWorldEvent and #DeliveryManEvent on all the social media channels to learn more!
And if you have questions I should ask Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Vince Vaughn or Chris Pratt leave them in the comments below!
My son wishes he could go with me – he loves all of the super heroes. And I’m with your daughters – Thor is my favorite too. 😉
It’s going to be a lot of fun – see you there! 🙂
I know what you mean about the teens – Austin thinks it’s pretty cool that we’re interviewing Vince Vaughn, especially! Can’t wait to meet you!
Oh my gosh I ADORE Vince Vaughn, what an amazing trip….you know I’ll be here waiting to hear ALL about it!
This is going to be so much fun! I was the same way when I got my email acting like a little kid on Christmas morning lol. Can’t wait to meet you!
Sounds exciting, good luck and have fun!
I am really looking forward to the new Thor movie coming out! That is probably one we will see in the theaters. 🙂
I love this post and am really looking forward to meeting you there!
Lucky! You are going to have such a blast. I love all of these actors and I hope you get to meet them!
Dang! Can I just say that I am jealous, too! I hope you have a ball.
I’m a huge fan of Loki! I know, he’s the bad guy but he’s such an amazing character and Tim Huddleston is one of my favorite actors right now. He has been known to go ‘in character’ to different comic cons around the US. So cool.
How exciting. Thor looks so good. have fun!
Have a great trip! I am sure it will be LOTS of fun!!
That sounds amazing! I hope you have a great time – though I know you will. BTW, beware of Tom’s eyes – they’ll make the most resilient woman lose strength in their knees.
For Tom Hiddleston. What was the reason for shooting additional Loki scenes just a few months before the release date?
For Tom, Frigga sort of takes place of Sigyn in myths by visiting/comforting Loki here. Do you think well ever see Sigyn in MCU?
For Tom, Odin and Loki’s relationship is just heartbreaking to me, is there any hope of reconciliation there still post Thor 2?
For Tom, one of my favorite things in comics is when Loki takes on or messes with another villain, what villains would he like to see Loki mess with next?
For Jaimie, does she think Sif has any hope with Thor in the future?
For Jaimie, what is her favorite weapon?
For Zachary Levi, did he like playing a blonde?
Please ask Tom Zach and Jaimie if there is any element of the mythology they’d like to see in the MCU in future?
