Summer is the time for celebrations. There are big celebrations like graduations, weddings and big sporting events. And then there are the smaller celebrations every family has, like when a child learns to ride a bike or drive a car, learns to swim or pitches in a baseball game for the first time. It is just as important to celebrate these little goals as the big ones! This summertime my family and I are determined to celebrate every goal and enjoy every minute.
This weekend our summertime fun goal was to beat my husband at mini-golf. This is a tough challenge, but my 21 year old daughter and 15 year old son were ready to take on this mission.
It quickly became clear that my son was going to be the main competition, and my husband pulled out all the stops to go for the win, including dancing on the course to try and distract the rest of us from our game. A last minute hole in one on hole # 17 pulled my husband ahead, and he ended up winning by 2 strokes! We will have to have a rematch soon though, and next time we will not let random bad dancing distract us.
Undaunted my son decided they should race go-karts, because he felt his smaller weight would give him a big advantage in the little cars. My son ended up almost lapping my husband, so he was very pleased with that result!
Here are some of the other goals we have for this summer, and we are planning to celebrate every one!

We are still a couple weeks away from school ending here but when it does I can’t wait to get out for some day trips. I love visiting museums and hiking with my boys in the Summer.
We don’t have any set plans or goals but I do want to spend lots of quality time with the kids.
