The football playoff are in full swing, and that means it is time to get ready for the Big Game!  My family and I are big football fans, but unfortunately this year all our favorites are already eliminated.

But at least that means we can enjoy watching the games, without stressing too much about the results! Here is a great football party we put together featuring some of our favorite foods and an easy recipe for Coca-Cola Punch. And as a bonus you can use the leftover soda cartons to make the ultimate Super Bowl Snack Stadium!

Coca-Cola Punch - Perfect party punch for the Big Game! Coke mixed with orange juice, pineapple juice and lemon juice for a party beverage that will quench your thirst. #PrepareToParty #ad

I wanted to make a fun drink for the Big Game, and a citrus-infused Coke Punch seems like the perfect beverage. To make the punch football-themed I made football-shaped ice cubes.

I bought a silicone football mold, which is designed for making chocolates but works great for ice cubes too.  A day before the party I opened up a half liter bottle of Coca-Cola and poured it into the molds, and then froze the ice cubes until party time.  The football ice cubes were cute, and a big hit with the kids!

To make the punch I added some orange juice, pineapple juice and lemon juice to the punch bowl, followed by five bottles of Coke.

Then my family did a taste test and decided it was a little too pineapple flavored, so we added more orange juice until we decided we had the perfect mix! Once we agreed the punch was delicious, I sliced up a lime, lemon and orange and floated them on top. Finally we added the football ice cubes just as the rest of the food came out of the oven.

To go along with the Coke Punch we served pizza, crackers with a cheese log, some football cookies, Chile Rellenos Casserole and some veggies.  There was plenty of food to go around!

A table with a lot of food on it.

To decorate we printed out some #1 fingers and pennants, and glued them to toothpicks.  It is cute to print these on colored card stock in your favorite team’s colors. We used them to stick in the pizza slices, in tomatoes and in the fruit around the punch bowl!

Finger food like crackers with cheese and veggies are perfect for munching on during the game.

  1. I have yet to experience all the fun of football season! I grew up in France and our sport is soccer and since my girls attend a French International school no football teas there either.. It’s always intrigued me and some day I’ll get to experience the game and the tail gating fun… !

  3. I thought for sure soda exploded in the freezer until I realized that is only in a can. I guess I have never thought to freeze soda but I love how the little footballs turned out.
