I prefer to make smoothies that are dairy free. This smoothie uses avocado to make the smoothie creamy without any milk or yogurt. I also use orange juice as a liquid in this smoothie which just adds to the tropical flavor.
How to Make a Mango Avocado Smoothie
This smoothie couldn’t be much easier to make. Simple pour the orange juice into a blender and then add the mango, avocado, spinach, mint and ice. Then blend it all until it is well mixed.
The mango and the orange juice make for a sweet smoothie that doesn’t need any added sweetener to taste amazing. If I have fresh mint I like to add a few leaves to this green smoothie to give it a slightly minty taste.
The spinach combines with the avocado give the smoothie its pretty green color. The spinach not only adds color, it also makes the smoothie even more nutritious. And even if you aren’t a fan of smoothies with greens in them don’t worry – the flavor of the spinach is overwhelmed by the other ingredients, so you really can’t taste it at all.

Either fresh or frozen fruit will work well in a smoothie, with slight recipe modifications. For this smoothie I used a fresh mango and added some ice. But you could easily make it with frozen mango and reduce the amount of ice or skip it altogether. Using either ice or frozen fruit makes the smoothie frothier and thicker. I like my smoothies thick and creamy!

Avocado is the key ingredient in making this smoothie. If you have never made a smoothie with avocado before it might seem strange, but give it a try because it tastes amazing.
