There is no peanut butter in the batter, but the bars still have lots of peanut butter flavor. That makes this family favorite recipe is delicious without being as an overwhelmingly peanut buttery, as say, peanut butter cookies.

In this blog post, we’ll cover everything you need to know to make these delicious bars. We’ll talk about the ingredients you’ll need, the steps to make them, and even some tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way.

🥣How to Make Reese’s Pieces Bars

  1. Line a 9×13 inch baking dish lined with parchment paper and grease it with non-stick cooking spray. This makes for easy removal and even easier cleanup.
  2. Next, beat together your butter and sugars in a mixing bowl until they’re light and fluffy.
  3. Add in your eggs and vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Add the dry ingredients to your mixing bowl and combine.
  5. Then, fold in the chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and Reese’s Pieces.
  6. Cover the dough and chill it for about 30 minutes. This helps the dough set up and makes it easier to press into your pan.
  7. Finally, press your peanut butter mixture into your prepared pan, sprinkle on some extra Reese’s Pieces (because why not?), and bake it for about 25 minutes. The edges will be golden brown, but the center will still be a little soft.
  8. Let the bars cool in the pan, then use the parchment paper to lift it out and slice into bars.

🍴Serving Ideas

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be eyeing the pan as soon as they come out of the oven, because they smell amazing! But let them cool before slicing and digging in, or they won’t cut cleanly. Here are some serving ideas.

  • There’s no shame in letting these bars stand on their own. Their rich peanut butter flavor, coupled with the crunch of the Reese’s Pieces, is delicious and perfect for the holiday season, packing in a lunch box, or a family movie night.
  • Want to take your dessert game to the next level? Try serving your Reese’s Pieces Bars a la mode with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The contrast between the gooey bar and the cool, creamy ice cream? Priceless.
  • If you’re feeling extra indulgent, consider drizzling a little melted chocolate over your bars or sprinkling them with powdered sugar. Not only does it add an extra layer of flavor, but it also makes for a stunning presentation.

💭Keeping Your Reese’s Pieces Bars Fresh

These bars are super easy to store. If you expect to eat them up within a couple of days (which, let’s be honest, is highly likely), just put them in an airtight container and leave them on your kitchen counter.

If you want to extend their life by a few more days, pop them in the fridge. They’ll get a bit firmer, but they’ll still be tasty. These bars also freeze beautifully.

Just wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and store them in a freezer-safe container. When you’re ready to enjoy them, let them thaw at room temperature for a couple of hours.

⭐Expert Tips

Be sure to check out the step by step instructions

  • I know it’s hard to resist digging in the moment you pull them out of the oven. But letting them cool will give you nice clean cuts, perfect for lunch boxes or a cookie plate.
  • If Reese’s Pieces aren’t your thing, you can certainly substitute them with other candies. M&M’s or chopped up peanut butter cups work great.
  • If you’re cooking for a crowd (or just have a serious sweet tooth), you can easily double the recipe.
