A bundt cake is sitting on a glass plate. We have 2 apple trees in our yard, and since we don’t spray them the apples we get are not very pretty – but they are tasty. So we don’t usually just them, instead we make delicious fall desserts. Apple sauce, apple cobbler, baked apples, apple pies – there are so many ways to enjoy this fall fruit.

This cake is a family favorite because the apples are baked right into the middle of the cake, which keeps it nice and moist. I think this cake tastes delicious even without the Caramel sauce, by my family always wants to me to put it on top for extra seasonal flavor. After all you can’t go wrong when you combine apples with caramel!

If you love Bundt cakes try this Christmas Bundt Cake!

  4. Just curious, do you know what role the baking soda plays in the caramel sauce? I’ve never heard of using it that way. The cake looks yummy. Trying to decide what I feel like making with the apples we just picked. How lucky you are to have 2 trees!

    • I use it because that’s how I’ve always done it and I never really thought about it. A quick google search says it improves the texture – the baking soda reacts with the acid, creates carbon dioxide and softens the caramel. But really it is just because my mom did it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. This recipe looks intriguing! I’m eager to try it. How much apple pie spice should we use? The type of measuring spoon (teaspoon?) isn’t mentioned in the recipe.
