To celebrate spring I was challenged to use Tyson Chicken Nuggets to create some springtime art, with some help from my kids of course!  After all, playing with your food is always fun, no matter what your age.

Custom eShakti Dotted Retro Poplin Dress Review

retro dressSpring is the perfect time to pick up some cute new clothes!  And dresses are ideal for Spring, since around here it is too cold to wear them for much of the winter.  eShakti specializes in making customized clothes at ready to wear prices.  So I was excited to have the chance to review a Spring dress from eShakti and receive a lovely new dress that was custom fit for me.  The company has a wide variety of dresses in styles that are both classic and fashionable.

I received the Dotted retro poplin shirtdress to review.  I chose this dress because it seemed to be right for my figure, with a high waist and stitched down inverted pleats.  So it is full at the bottom with a nice twirly skirt, but doesn’t have a lot of extra fabric at the waist. All eShakti dresses can be customized, by changing hem length, or sleeves or neckline. I had the dress customized to my measurements, and was thrilled with the result. [Read more...]

Easter Dinner with Ecce Panis Crostini and Easy to Make Spreads

Easter is a wonderful time to get together with family and celebrate!  This year I hosted Easter dinner for our extended family, and ended up with 20 guests, which is more than I usually have (and more than I expected!)  We had plenty of food though, including some Crostini with Dips that I made to feature the Ecce Panis Gourmet Artisan Bread.

Feeling Luminous and Picture Ready with Pond’s

It seems like everything is becoming more and more visual, with pictures everywhere.  People are always pulling out their phones and snapping away for pictures to put on Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook.  And the pictures are good too; most phones take better pictures than my point and shoot camera from a few years ago!  If every moment is a candid photo opportunity, a glowing complexion is more important than ever. That is why Pond’s, already known for giving women beautiful skin, is partnering with supermodel Molly Sims to help women look luminous every day.

I love jewelry!  My 16 year old makes jewelry as a hobby, so I can always count on her giving me a piece that she specially made for my birthday or other holidays.  I recently was able to review a AA graded 6.99 carat stone from Herkimer Diamond Quartz, which is perfect for jewelry making.

Aunt Jemima Lil’ Griddles Pancakes Review

My kids love a hot breakfast.  But I refuse to cook in the mornings, so I never make pancakes or French toast for them!  My husband usually makes them buttermilk pancakes on the weekend, but during the week they are on their own, so frozen breakfast items are a staple at our house.

My kids and I recently tried out the new Lil’ Griddles line from Aunt Jemima, and they were a big hit with everyone.

Surprise Talents from Green Giant

pointe shoe sketchGreen Giant is searching the country for people with a surprise talent!  Do you have one?  I had to think pretty hard to come up with something that I would consider a surprise talent of mine.  But then I remembered that I used to be a ballerina!  I danced ballet all the way through school, and by the time I was 18 I was pretty good at it, and danced a pointe solo at my senior recital.

Green Giant has come out with a surprise of their own, Green Giant Veggie Snack Chips.  They have taken wholesome vegetables and made them into crunchy chips with lots of whole grain and fiber.  This is a great idea for a snack that can be enjoyed with less guilt than standard tortilla or potato chips!  The Veggie Snack chips come in two different varieties, Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips with Sea Salt and Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in Zesty cheddar.

Vicks Cold and Flu Relief with DayQuil and NyQuil

Hand washing to prevent illnessBeing a Mom is a 24 hours a day job, and unfortunately you can’t call in sick and decide to stay in bed all day, even when you have a cold.  So I do my best to try and prevent illnesses.  I take my vitamins, add in extra Vitamin C when family members are sick, and most of all make sure I was my hands frequently!

This year it has worked out pretty well for me, and other than a few very mild runny noses I have had a healthy winter.  And it is a good thing too, because I don’t have the time to be sick. I am on the go constantly, and taking a few days off to stay in bed is not an option!

Hair Shadz and Sun Shadz by Monimay Review

I have very fair skin that burns easily.  In the summer I use sunscreen all the time, and cover up when I can.  I have had some very bad sunburns over the years, so I have learned to be careful and take precautions.  But there is one place that is hard to put sunscreen, and that is on my scalp.  I am certainly not going to spray gooey sunscreen in my hair!eb910344b49b570679d8af6d0da96499ba91fd4f [Read more...]
